About Me

Mohammad, sometimes Mo, sometimes Madhi
I’m Mohammad, happily married with 2 children, 1 girl and 11 boy.
I was minding my own business – going to the gym, cycling, making green smoothies and eating veg, and taking my vitamins – and all of a sudden I’m hit with bowel cancer.
Everyone, from the doctors to the nurses to the consultants, would tell me, 'But, you’re so young,' and I wouldn’t know how to reply. I would take it as an insult to suggest that I had done something wrong to be here. But I felt lucky because I might not have survived if I had been older.
Bowel Cancer and Me is a blog dedicated to providing information about my experiences as a cancer survivor and the effects of an 'able person' turn disabled. I avoid giving advice on diet, lifestyle, medication, or mental health because I'm not a professional.
However, I hope to offer practical tips and share how I manage my condition, such as coping strategies, support resources, and personal insights that may resonate with others facing similar challenges.
It’s a scary thing, putting yourself out there, but why not? I’ve got nothing to lose and maybe a lot to gain. (Deep breath) Here we go…
